Use accepted source formats

The intake workflow accepts PDF, DOCX, XLSX, CSV, and plain text source files. Unsupported MIME types are rejected before a useful upload slot is returned.

  • Accepted MIME types are application/pdf, application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document, application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet, text/csv, and text/plain.
  • Each source file must be 50 MB or smaller.
  • Use policies, board minutes, risk registers, training exports, attestations, or similar ECCTA evidence sources.

Complete the signed PUT upload

DefenceFile creates a private tenant-scoped upload slot before the browser sends the file. The slot records the required content type, maximum size, and upload URL expiry.

  • Upload slots start with scanStatus pending and extractionStatus pending.
  • The browser must upload with the signed PUT URL and matching content type.
  • The current upload URL expiry is 15 minutes from slot creation.

Boundary

DefenceFile help explains workflow operation. It does not provide legal advice, create privilege, certify scope, certify reasonable procedures, or guarantee that a statutory defence will succeed.
